The easiest way to access Hvar Island is by taking the ferry boat from the port of Split which is only a few minutes away from the old town. During June till the end of September, there are more frequent ferry departures to the island and the ferry trip lasts about an hour. It is a very enjoyable journey as you pass through the Adriatic sea, you can see the gold shores of the Croatian Islands. Most of Lavender fields in Hvar are located in Zastrazisce, Gdinj, Bogomolje and Brusje. The best way to visit the Lavender fields is by renting a car or taking a taxi, as the bus rides aren’t that frequent. If you are a fan of hiking, this is a great option for you! Moreover, it needs to be pointed out that the production of Lavender is more limited now. However, locals make sure to preserve the tradition of Lavender. In mid July the annual Lavender Festival takes place in the village of Velo Grablje, which lasts a couple of days and many visitors take the opportunity to educate themselves about this magical medicinal plant, its production and its uses. You can find all over Hvar, products made by Lavender, sold in shops or stands by the inhabitants. Get a taste of lavender ice cream, cakes coated with lavender juice, lavender scented honey  and many more. Hvar lavender products make the most unique souvenir whose smell will remind you of the amazing moments in the Adriatic sea.
