A honeymoon in Croatia: the most romantic places to visit

June 7, 2024

Croatia can be the perfect destination for your holiday or other romantic getaway. The beautiful sea, the small streets, and the good food make it an ideal destination for a romantic getaway. We offer you some of the most romantic places to visit with your loved one.

Omiš is not yet a major tourist destination, even though it is a beautiful town surrounded by clear water and mountains. It is only a 40-minute drive from Split but makes a much calmer experience. The symbol of the city is the fortress. The Omiš pirates used to rule and used the fortress as a lookout. These days you can climb it together to get another stunning view.

One of Croatia’s most popular destinations among tourists, but this is for a reason. This city has it all, breathtaking views, historical landmarks, plenty of activities to do together, and good restaurants. Walking the city walls is probably the most popular activity, but definitely worth it. You will get a stunning view of the city and the beautiful sea. This makes the perfect couple's photo! But because it is such a popular destination, try to visit it outside of the summer season, to not be surrounded by other tourists all the time.

Croatia has many beautiful islands to offer. This island, Lastovo, is one of them. Lastovo is like a little continent of its own, due to its isolation and location in the open sea. Making it one of the most remote places, to spend peaceful time together. It is perfect for those who want to experience the beauty and calm of an authentic Croatian village.

Plitvice Lakes National Park

Instead of wandering around beautiful city streets, the Plitvice Lakes offers you a very romantic destination in stunning nature. There are multiple beautiful lakes and waterfalls, making it a perfect destination for couples who love to hike. Because it is such a stunning place, it can be very touristy in the summer season. For a quieter experience try to visit outside of the season, when it is still as stunning.

Brela impresses with a breathtaking panorama. The promenade, which is about six kilometers long, makes a perfect place for romantic walks. Along the way, you will find cozy bars that offer local delicacies and refreshments. Brela also offers many stunning beaches with crystal clear water, all available within walking distance.

The last honeymoon destination is Rovinj. The city is popular for its romance and calming aura. The brightly painted buildings and the fishing boats lining the seafront make it a picture-perfect place. Rovinj is also known for its Italian influence, with at least ten percent of Italian citizens. Visit Rovinji and get a bit of both cultures!
